Where can I find an expert on an area of Immigration Law?
At AILA's Mentor Directory. Here's how to contact other members for assistance with one or more questions that you have researched but haven’t found answers to.
If you are a member of the public, please visit our Immigration Lawyer Search tool on AILALawyer.com to connect with an AILA attorney who can guide you.
For instructions on using the site, visit our Help Center article, Where can I find an AILA lawyer?
The AILA Mentor Program is a voluntary program of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) to facilitate appropriate mentor consultation among the members of AILA. The Mentor Directory is not intended to be and should not be used as a lawyer referral guide for the public. AILA has not investigated and does not make any representation regarding the professional competence of any of the participants of the program. Review the AILA Mentor Program Rules and Guidelines before you begin.
Log in to AILA.org and click on "Member Directories" from the top menu and then on Member Directory from the drop-down menu.
Enter the topic in which you require assistance under “Mentor Category.” For a search of all members who have identified themselves as Mentors in that category, leave all other fields blank and click "Apply Filter." To refine your search, you may enter more information such as chapter, city, or state/province, and then click "Apply Filter."
Scroll down to see the results and click on the name of a Mentor to view their bio page. From the mentor’s bio page, access their email and/or phone number to contact them directly with your question(s).
As a reminder, be sure to do your research before contacting AILA mentors and do not reach out to several mentors at the same time. Give mentors 24 hours to respond to your question(s) before moving on to another mentor on the list. This is a free member-to-member service only.
