May I join AILA after I've graduated Law School but before I'm a licensed attorney?
You may qualify to become an AILA Affiliated Paralegal. Here are your options for AILA membership when you are neither a currently enrolled law student nor a licensed attorney.
If you are employed by an active AILA member, we invite you to sign up as an AILA Affiliated Paralegal (AAP). To apply, create an AILA.org account or log into your AILA.org account. Once signed in, visit My AILA Applications to sign up to be an AAP by selecting Paralegal. Note that you do not need to be a paralegal to become an AAP, but AAPs must work for active AILA members to be eligible.
If you do not meet the criteria to become an AAP either, we encourage you to apply for membership once you are a fully licensed attorney.
Remember you are welcome to use our Career Center to search for career opportunities. You do not need to have an active membership in order to use AILA's Career Center.
Visit our Application Process and Eligibility Requirements page for more information on AILA membership requirements.
