Can I apply for AILA membership with a California Bar Provisional License?
Due to the circumstances of your eligibility, there are extra steps to complete prior to applying for membership. Here's how to apply for AILA membership if you have only a Provisional License to practice law from the California State Bar.
The AILA National Membership Committee has made a prior determination regarding the eligibility for AILA Membership for applicants who hold a provisional license with the State Bar of California.
The Committee has determined that anyone applying for AILA membership with a Provisional License must:
- Submit an AILA National Waiver Request Submission Form for the Membership Committee to review, requesting that the applicant is permitted to become a member even though he or she does not hold a bar license
AND
- The applicant’s sponsoring attorney must be an active AILA member.
